Oily Skin: 7 Ways To Get A Oil Free Skin And Rid of Acne
One of the more widely known causes of acne is oily skin. The oil
is the sebum that are produced by our skin to lubricate and
protect our skin from dehydration among other challenges.
However, in some of us the sebaceous glands produce excess sebum
that floods our skin giving it an oily feel. This excessive oil
causes pore blockage which provides perfect breeding grounds for
acne causing bacteria.
The worst hit area is the “T-Zone” - the forehead and nose.
This article discusses 7 ways to keep your skin oil free.
#1 - Wash your face 3 times daily
Wash your face 3 times everyday with a mild face wash or soap.
Do not scrub too hard. Soap or face wash primarily work well
with oil so you dont have to go the extra mile with making sure
the soap hits the oil.
#2 - Just the right amount of sun light.
Too much of sun exposure is bad. Avoid excessive exposure to sun
light. That doesn’t translate to “stay out of the sun”. However,
some sun exposure is good for your oily skin problem.
#3 - Use a clay-based face mask
Again it is imperative that you use a clay-based face mask
#4 - Use products containing AHA - Alpha Hydroxy Acids
These help remove dead skin and give skin a smoother appearance.
#5 - Steam your skin
Steam your skin often times a week. Use lavender oil, or dried
herbs like rosemary, parsley or thyme in the water, if possible.
#6 - Drink lots of water
It helps in keeping your skin hydrated. Drink 6-8 glasses of
water.
#7 - Diet
Avoid oily/fatty foods and eat more vegetables, fruits and whole
grains. Supplement your diet with B-complex vitamins, vitamin A,
vitamin C, zinc and vitamin E.
