Different Anti Aging Skin Products for Your Skin Type
Ever wonder why there are so many different anti aging skin
products? This is because individuals have different skin types
and therefore, also have different needs for anti aging skin
product. Anti aging skin products can be antioxidants,
all-natural or organic products, collagens and retinols which
can come in the form of different cleansers, toners or
moisturizers. Before you choose your anti aging skin product,
determine your skin type first.
Different Skin Types
- Oily Skin - this is caused by too much sebum in our skin.
Overproduction of sebum can clog up dirt in pores. Dirt and oil
then develop into pimples and when gone untreated, could lead to
a bad case of acne. Usually, toners are used to declog and
tighten pores.
Dry Skin - is caused by the decreased production of sebum that
keeps skin lubricated and plump. It can appear flaky and dull.
Dry skin can be treated with hydrating products.
Combination skin - produces more or less sebum in different
areas of the skin. In the face for example, there could be more
sebum produced on the nose, chin and forehead and less on other
areas. A product should be specific to each problem area.
- Normal Skin - this is the type of skin that produces just the
right amount of sebum to keep the skin healthy and hydrated. For
you to maintain your normal skin, regular cleansing, toning and
moisturizing are recommended.
Sensitive skin - is a condition that makes skin hypersensitive
to external factors like alcohol and fragrance from cosmetic
products. Sensitive skin could also react negatively towards
heat and cold weather. This skin type could benefit from gentle
cleansers and water-based creams.
Cleansers:
Cleansers should be ideally pH-balanced. This means that they
should not be too harsh on the skin, but at the same time, have
enough strength to prevent dirt and bacteria from developing
into acnes. Acne causes scars which become more difficult to get
rid of as the skin ages. These can also have moisturizers so you
need not get a separate anti aging skin moisturizing product.
Moisturizers in cleansers can prevent the skin from drying after
cleansing.
Toner:
Skin toners are used to remove particles left on your skin.
These particles can include excess oil, make-up, dust and dirt.
Toners also refresh the skin by tightening the pores. Toners are
good anti aging skin product because they usually contain
essential oils that can improve the texture and clarity of an
aging skin. Using witch hazel as toner for oily skin and rose
water for dry skin can soothe the skin as well.
Moisturizer:
An anti aging skin product that gives aging skin proper
hydration can add significant results. Moisturizers technically
cannot give moisture to the skin, although good anti aging
moisturizers can effectively lock in water and essential oils in
your skin.
Combined Anti Aging Solutions:
There are now high-tech creams that multi-task when it comes to
fighting age and taking care of your skin. Many anti aging skin
products are now a combination of ingredients and solutions
designed to nourish, repair, tone and moisturize all at the same
time.
