Cure Your Dandruff With Remedies At Home

Dandruff problem has been a cause of concern
for the people worldwide. Almost every one of us is affected
with dandruff at some stage, sometimes even leading to hair loss.
Historically termed as pityriasis capitis, dandruff is due to
the excessive shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp. As it
is normal for skin cells to die and flake off, a small amount of
flaking is quite normal and occurs in almost all of us.
Excessive flaking, however, can be a symptom of seborrhoeic
dermatitis, psoriasis, fungal infection or excoriation
associated with infestation of

as a result of social or self-esteem problems and purely for
psychological reasons.

The cause of dandruff is attributed mainly to three factors -
Skin oil commonly referred to as sebum or sebaceous secretions,
metabolic by-products of skin micro-organisms (most specifically
Malassezia yeasts) and susceptibility of the individual.
Dandruff can happen in both dry and oily scalp conditions. The
collection of dead cells on the scalp can cause the pores of the
scalp to get blocked leading to obstruction of the flow of
natural oil to the hair, leading to hair that is dull and
lifeless in spite of an oily scalp. Excessive dandruff results
in itching, loose white flakes and loose yellow flakes which
fall off and may be noticed on the shoulders, back or scalp.
Dandruff can also lead to other related problems. It can lead to
an inflamed scalp condition, hair loss, acne and itchy skin.

Herbal treatments have proved to be very effective in dandruff
cure as they help in stimulating the hair growth by stimulating
the blood flow in the scalp. There are a number of herbs that
have appropriate medical properties that can curb and control
dandruff. These herbs are mild in nature and they do not damage
the delicate tresses.

Henna helps in controlling dandruff and also promotes hair
growth and conditions the hair making them soft and shiny. It
also helps in restoring the health of the hair. It is a natural
product but care should be taken while choosing the quality of
henna. Specially prepared henna powder mixed with other
ingredients, is very effective in controlling dandruff and
improving the hair texture.

Even lemon has also been found to be very fruitful against
dandruff. It helps in restoring the pH balance of the scalp. A
few drops of lemon juice may be used with 15-20 ml of coconut
oil and massage into the hair. Leave it for the night and wash
off the next day to find hair shining and clean. It will help in
restoring the scalp pH balance and reduce dandruff formation in
the hair.

of dandruff. A few drops of Eucalyptus oil when mixed with
coconut oil and massage into the scalp removes the flakes and
eliminates dandruff. This process repeated twice a week for a
couple of weeks will show improvement in dandruff conditions.
The massage of the hair is an important part of the treatment as
it stimulates blood flow to the scalp and helps in removing dead
cells. The above are natural dandruff treatments which rely upon
easily available home products. However, if you suffer from
excessive dandruff or itchy skin, a bacterial condition may be
