All Natural Treatments for Acne
There are many acne sufferers who prefer the natural, home
remedy way to cure their acne. This is useful for those with
sensitive skin, which may become irritated when using over the
counter products. Home remedies are an option that can be very
cost-efficient. But the most positive side of choosing natural
home remedies is that you know exactly what is being used on the
skin. The downside is possible unknown allergies which could
also irritate the skin. Therefore it is recommended to do an
allergy test on the forearm before putting any of these
substances on the face.
Some options towards natural home remedies are as follows:
Either aspirin (non-coated) or baking soda mixed with water can
be used as exfoliants to remove dead skin cells.
A paste should be formed and applied to the skin. Massage onto
skin for 30 seconds and rinse.
Egg whites used as a mask can heal the skin from acne damage.
Egg whites can also absorb extra oil from the skin. Beat the egg
white of one egg and apply to face. Wait 15 minutes and rinse
off.
Another form of natural home remedy exfoliation can be done with
juices - either lemon or lime. These juices can also fade some
acne scars.
Apply with a cotton ball. Leave on for about 10 minutes and
rinse off. Be sure to do a skin test. Sensitve skin could react
harshly to lemons/limes, therefore even if there is no reaction
to the skin test - you should start with a limited time of 2
minutes and work up to 10 minutes (apply once a week).
Oatmeal can also be used as a natural home remedy by absorbing
unwanted oil. Oatmeal can also draw impurities out of the skin.
The oatmeal will be used like the egg as a mask. After cooking
and letting it cool down, the oatmeal can be rubbed onto the
skin. Leave on for 10 minutes and rinse off.
Tea tree oil is a very common anti-acne ingredient because it
kills the bacteria within the skin. This all natural antiseptic
can be applied directly to the skin but may need to be diluted
with jojoba oil for sensitive skin.
This can be left on the skin for 10 minutes - but again it is
best to start at 2 minutes and work your way up.
